Description

UNCADEP AEROSOL

Sterile nebulizing solution based on N-acetylcysteine and hyaluronic acid (obtained by biotechnology, free of animal proteins), indicated to protect and create a barrier effect on the rhino-oro-pharyngeal mucosa subject to redness and infections. N-acetylcysteine decreases the viscosity of the mucus, lubricates and provides relief in case of symptoms related to inflammation such as difficulty swallowing, the sensation of a foreign body in the throat, tickling or dryness. Hyaluronic acid adheres to the surface of the mucosa and, retaining the physiologically present water, forms a protective film, providing relief to the irritated mucosa. Thanks to the barrier effect, the mucosa maintains its integrity and is protected from the aggression of external agents and pathogens.
Uncadep aerosol is a sterile nebulizing solution, to be used in case of acute or chronic respiratory tract conditions (tonsillitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, rhinitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis), coughs of various kinds, flu or cold-like syndromes, inflammation of the vocal cords, redness, hoarseness, respiratory tract problems due to gastroesophageal reflux, post-operative ENT surgery.

How to use
Adults and children over 6 years of age: one single-dose vial per session 2 times a day. Children aged 2-6 years: half the contents of a single-dose vial per session 2 times a day. The container is provided with a graduation corresponding to half the dose. Administer the solution using aerosol therapy devices (piston and not ultrasonic).
Wash your hands before and after using the medical device. To use, perform the following operations:
- bend the single-dose vial and detach it from the strip to which it is welded;
- shake the single-dose vial lightly before use;
- open the single-dose vial by rotating the flap;
- apply moderate pressure on the walls of the single-dose vial to release the solution according to the indicated quantity and insert it into the nebulizer bulb. Add physiological solution in a 1:1 ratio. Dispense the product through the nasal cavity, using the device;
- If using half a dose, the container can be closed by turning it upside down and pressing the cap. The closed single-dose vial must be stored at room temperature and used within 24 hours of first opening.
It can be used at any time of the day without any particular restrictions of time and schedule. The duration of treatment should not exceed 30 days; the duration of use depends on the evolution of the symptoms; if the symptoms persist after a certain period of time, consult your doctor.

Components
N-acetylcysteine, hyaluronic acid sodium salt, thyme essential oil, disodium EDTA, polysorbate 20, sodium phosphate monobasic dihydrate, sodium phosphate dibasic heptahydrate, sodium hydroxide, water.

Warnings
Do not exceed the recommended dose. Keep out of the reach and sight of children. Avoid contact with eyes. The possible presence of a sulphurous odour does not indicate alterations of the preparation but is typical of a component of the formulation. Do not use after the expiry date or if the package is opened or damaged. Since N-acetylcysteine can react chemically with certain types of material (rubber, iron, copper), it is advisable to use glass or plastic aerosol devices; for devices that have metal or rubber parts, it is necessary to wash the devices with water immediately after use. The administration of N-acetylcysteine, especially by aerosol, can fluidify and increase the volume of bronchial mucus, especially at the beginning of treatment. Therefore, if this occurs and you are unable to eliminate bronchial secretions by coughing, contact your doctor. N-acetylcysteine can be taken together with bronchodilator or vasoconstrictor drugs, in which case the product must be used as soon as possible. N-acetylcysteine should be taken with caution and always under medical supervision in the following cases:
- if you suffer from bronchial asthma. Stop taking the product immediately if contraction of the bronchial muscles (bronchospasm) occurs;
- if you suffer or have suffered from peptic ulcer, especially if you are taking drugs known to cause gastro-intestinal damage.
There are no known interactions with other products. Before using the product in combination with other drugs or medical devices, consult your doctor. Contact your doctor if you are taking any of the following drugs:
- nitroglycerin, which if used at the same time as N-acetylcysteine, can cause a reduction in blood pressure (hypotension) and headache (cephalea), making it necessary to monitor blood pressure;
- antibiotics, as in vitro tests have shown a lower activity of the antibiotic in the simultaneous presence of N-acetylcysteine.
Laboratory tests: N-acetylcysteine may interfere with some blood and urine tests (colorimetric assay for salicylates and tests for ketones). Tell your doctor before having these tests.
Product contraindicated for use in children under two years of age. Do not use in case of individual hypersensitivity to one of the components of the product.
The safety of using the product during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been demonstrated. In such circumstances, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
As a precaution, it would be best not to take other drugs at the same time as N-acetylcysteine, in particular the following should not be taken:
- antitussive drugs, because following the reduction of the cough reflex they can lead to an accumulation of mucus inside the bronchi;
- drugs that can inhibit and decrease the volume of bronchial secretions (anticholinergics), because they can have an effect opposite to that of N-acetylcysteine.
English: The use, especially if prolonged, of all products for topical use could give rise to sensitization phenomena. In this case, stop the treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy. If you experience any side effects, described or not in the package leaflet, inform your doctor or pharmacist. The administration of N-acetylcysteine can cause possible side effects, such as hypersensitivity, bronchospasm, rhinorrhea, bronchial obstruction, stomatitis, vomiting, nausea, urticaria, skin rash, itching. In very rare cases, serious skin reactions have occurred (Stevens Johnson syndrome or Lyell syndrome). In most cases, at least one other suspect drug has been identified and is more likely involved in the genesis of the aforementioned reactions. In any case, if such microcutaneous alterations occur, stop taking N-acetylcysteine and contact your doctor. Some studies have shown a possible reduction in platelet aggregation during the intake of N-acetylcysteine.
