medigel
Mixture of only essential amino acids integrated with vitamins, minerals, selenium and carnitine, indicated for the dietary treatment of children from the sixth month of life and of adults with confirmed urea cycle disorder.
Food for special medical purposes.
Ingredients
Sucrose, L-lysine acetate, L-leucine, corn starch, L-valine, L-threonine, L-isoleucine, thickener: modified starch; L-Tyrosine, L-Phenylalanine, Calcium Glycerophosphate, Tricalcium Phosphate, L-Histidine, L-Methionine, Sodium Citrate, L-Cystine, L-Tryptophan, Potassium Chloride, Potassium Citrate, Magnesium Hydrogen Phosphate, Maltodextrin (from Potato), Choline Bitartrate, Potassium Phosphate, Sodium Chloride, L-Carnitine, Zinc Gluconate, L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Ferrous Sulfate, Chromium Chloride, DL-Alpha-Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Manganese Gluconate, Nicotinamide (Niacin), Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D), Copper Gluconate, Calcium D-Pantothenate, Retinyl Acetate (Vitamin A), Potassium Iodide, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Vitamin B6), Thiamine Hydrochloride, Sodium Molybdate, riboflavin, phylloquinone (vitamin K), pteroylmonoglutamic acid (folic acid), sodium selenite, D-biotin, cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12).
How to use
As prescribed by the doctor, taking into account the age, body weight and clinical conditions of the subject.
UCD medigel can be taken either as a gel or as a drink.
To obtain a gel: pour the contents of a sachet of UCD medigel into a glass; if desired, flavour to taste; add approximately 30 ml of cold water; mix well for approximately 10 seconds; to obtain a creamy gel: leave to stand for approximately 2 minutes.
To make a drink: Pour the contents of one sachet of UCD medigel into a glass; if desired, flavour to taste; add approximately 80 ml of cold water; stir well for approximately 10 seconds; drink immediately.
Reconstituted UCD medigel can be taken as is with a teaspoon or mixed with other permitted foods. For best results, whenever possible, UCD medigel should be prepared and consumed immediately.
If necessary, the reconstituted and unused product can be stored for 24 hours in the refrigerator and mixed well before use.
The powder contained in a sachet, once opened, should be entirely consumed. Any excess should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 24 hours.
Warnings
UCD medigel should be used under medical supervision by subjects with known urea cycle disorder.
UCD medigel cannot be used as a sole source of power. Keep out of reach of children.
Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and direct sources of heat.
The expiry date refers to the product correctly stored in intact packaging.
