INFRARED THERMOMETER
Description
Class IIA Medical Device (Directive 93/42/EEC).
Stepped Conical Design: Captures and focuses infrared light for improved measurement. Prevents errors caused by incorrect positioning. Indicates the user when positioning is correct.
Minimizes systematic errors caused by ambient temperature variation.
Visual and Audible Fever Notification: Triple backlight and 3 different buzzers to indicate different temperatures.
Measurements in 1 second.
It detects body temperature, and that of surfaces.

- Temperature: 15°C-40°C
- Humidity: 15%-93% RH
- Pressure: 70-106 kPa
Power supply: 2 x 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries
Auto power off: 30 seconds
Measuring range
- Body temperature mode: 32°C-43°C (89.6°F-109.4°F)
- Object temperature mode: 0°C-100°C (32°F-212°F)
Minimum unit used: 0.1°C / 0.1°F
Accuracy
- ±0.2°C, in the range 35°C-42°C
- ±0.3°C, outside this range
How to use
Body temperature measurement
1. Press the power button to activate the product and start measuring the forehead temperature.
2. Point the sensor at the center of your forehead at a distance of less than or equal to 3 cm.
3. Press the button to perform instant measurement.
If the distance is greater than 3 cm, the product does not measure the temperature and a flashing error message appears on the screen and invites you to (gradually) move the thermometer closer. Then bring the thermometer to the right distance and the measurement will be completed.
Once the measurement is completed, a warning signal sounds and the measurement result appears on the screen.
Continuous measurements cannot be taken at intervals less than 5 seconds.
Surface temperature measurement
In ON mode/ When the product is turned on, press the power button for 3 seconds, the thermometer will enter object temperature mode and the “object temp. mode” symbol will appear on the right side of the screen. In this mode, you can measure the ambient temperature or object temperature. To maintain measurement accuracy, do not use the product for forehead measurements in this mode.
Regardless of the mode the device was in before it was turned off, the default setting when it is turned back on is always the front mode.
Cleaning
- Probe: If there is dust or dirt on the sensor or groove, clean it with a cotton swab soaked in denatured alcohol. (Caution: Do not place the product under running water to wash it.)
- Body: Wipe the product with a clean, dry cloth to avoid scratches. (Attention: Do not clean the product body with water.) Attention: Due to the particularly sensitive technology used in infrared temperature detection, dust and dirt residues can not only affect the accuracy of the measurement, but also cause bacterial infections. It is recommended to thoroughly clean the product after each use, as indicated above.
Warnings
Check the product before each use. Do not use the product if damaged. Using the damaged product may cause injury, incorrect results or serious damage. Avoid placing the product near fire or heat sources that may cause the batteries to explode. If you experience any problems with the product, in installation, maintenance or use, contact the Manufacturer and/or Distributor for assistance. Do not open or repair the product yourself. Please contact the Manufacturer and/or Distributor in case of abnormal situations.
The infrared thermometer has been tested and found to comply with the electromagnetic interference (EMC) standards for medical products. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a typical medical installation. Do not use the product in conjunction with other devices with high levels of electromagnetic emissions.
The product is intended for measuring body temperature only. It cannot be used for diagnosis or continuous measurement in surgical operations. The product cannot be used for self-diagnosis and treatment: follow the doctor's instructions. The main material of the product body is plastic. Be careful of potential allergic reactions to the material. Do not use on infected wounds. Do not touch the infrared sensor or blow on it with your mouth. Ask doctors and/or specialized medical personnel how to interpret the results of measurements taken with this device. Do not use mobile phones near the product. Do not use equipment that generates electromagnetic fields near the product. The use of heating or cooling devices, such as heating blankets or pillows, or ice bags, may alter the correct functioning of the product and pose an additional risk to the patient. Do not store the product in direct sunlight, hot, humid or dusty environments. The performance and correct functioning of the product may be altered. Do not disassemble or repair the product yourself (including spare parts). Do not clean or perform maintenance during use. Wait 30 minutes before use in case of sudden change of environment (e.g. from direct sunlight to air conditioning), or the accuracy of the device may be affected/altered. Deteriorated sensors and electrodes, as well as loose electrodes, may affect the performance of the device and cause various other problems. Do not open the battery compartment near any potential ignition source that may ignite the batteries and cause a fire. Remove the batteries if the product is not to be used for a long period of time. Keep the product out of reach of infants, children and pets. Swallowing and/or inhaling the small parts contained in the device is dangerous and may even be fatal.
The patient is intended as the operator. Under normal circumstances, the patient can measure and change the battery and maintain the device and its accessories as described in the user manual. Children should not use the product. Children under the age of twelve may only use the device under the supervision of an adult. Children under the age of twelve and/or persons with disabilities that limit their ability to understand and use products such as this, should not have access to the device and may only use it under the supervision of an adult with full mental faculties. Do not subject the device to forces such as bending, compressing or twisting the device. Do not drop the product or subject it to strong impacts. Do not subject the product to sudden and large temperature changes. The performance of the product may be affected by the following causes: use or storage outside the recommended temperature and humidity; patient temperature lower than room temperature. If the device has been stored at temperatures below freezing, warm it naturally to room temperature before using it. Clean the sensor before storing the product.
