STANFLEX PLUS
Description
Food supplement based on caper extract, glucosamine sulfate, chondroitin sulfate and methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage and to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Property
- Glucosamine sulphate : is an amino-monosaccharide that the cells of the cartilage tissue (chondrocytes) synthesize from glucose; it represents a structural unit of the constituents of the cartilaginous connective tissue (glycosaminoglycans) having mainly a support and protection function.
- Chondroitin sulfate : it is a polysaccharide and is the glycosaminoglycan (GAG) present in the greatest quantity within cartilage. Since GAG is hydrophilic by nature, it tends to easily bind water, creating swollen hydrated molecules that give cartilage tissue its particular cushioning characteristics: following compressive forces, they rapidly change their volume, releasing water molecules to the tissue, thus contributing to its lubrication.
- Caper : it is a Mediterranean plant whose use dates back to ancient medicine. Its fruits (capers) are rich in vitamins, minerals and phenolic compounds, including the flavonoid quercetin and the flavonol kaempferol, substances responsible for their biological properties.
- MSM : methylsulfonylmethane is a natural source of organic sulfur in a biologically active form. In terms of quantity present in the body, after calcium and phosphorus, sulfur is the third mineral and almost half is contained in muscle tissue, skin and bones. - Vitamin C : ascorbic acid contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and to the normal formation of collagen for the regular function of cartilage. Collagen is one of the structural proteins of the cartilage matrix and is essential together with proteoglycans (aggregates of GAGs and proteins) for maintaining its physiological functionality.
