- A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multicenter clinical trial (center 1 inactive) in 30 patients with 2 psoriasis plaques (≈ 20 cm², at least 15 cm apart), in two separate phases. XERIAL DM Psoriasis or placebo was applied twice daily to the psoriatic plaques for 30 days during phase 1 and for 28 days during phase 2, separated by calcipotriol and betamethasone (topical steroid) treatment. Assessment of total PSI score, roughness scales and subscores on days 14 and 30 (phase 1): PSI: n=30, mean (day 0) = 7.50±1.22, mean (day 14) = 6.10±1.75 (p < 0.001); significant difference from placebo; scales n=30, mean (day 0) = 2.57±0.61, mean (day 14): 1.87±0.90 (p < 0.001), significant difference from placebo; redness n=30, mean (day 0) = 2.60±0.50, mean (day 30): 2.00±0.79 (p < 0.001), significant difference from placebo. Tolerability results: 42.4% of patients experienced a total of 24 mild to moderate adverse reactions, 13 of which were potentially related to the study products: 9 related to XERIAL DM PSORIASIS and 4 to PLACEBO. These effects were: stinging (9%), itching (15%), and burning (3%). All related adverse reactions were local and resolved before the end of the study.

How does it work?
Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin condition. In other words, it is a skin condition that affects a person throughout their life and that oscillates between phases of regression and phases of reappearance of symptoms. The typical manifestation of psoriasis is hyperkeratinization (abnormal thickening of the skin) usually accompanied by inflammatory symptoms. This results in the appearance of plaques, scaling and redness usually accompanied by a sensation of intense itching. The skin barrier is weakened and the skin becomes very dry. These symptoms can affect daily well-being and consequently have a strongly negative impact on the quality of life. Furthermore, this condition is often mistakenly associated with poor hygiene or a possible risk of contagion: both theories are clearly wrong.
XERIAL DM PSORIASIS is indicated for the treatment of typical manifestations of common psoriasis. The formula is characterized by a high concentration of dermatological active ingredients:
• A kerato-repair complex with 15% pure Urea and a marine exopolysaccharide. This combination has an effective keratolytic action that reduces plaques, flaking and thickening. The marine exopolysaccharide comes from the red algae of Brittany and is an active ingredient recognized to help reduce the presence of scales and flaking while deeply hydrating the skin.3
• 27% emollient agents such as Shea butter and Camelina sativa oil to relieve inflammatory symptoms and protect the skin.

How to use it?
Apply a thick layer of product twice a day to the areas of the face and body affected by psoriasis, making sure the skin is well cleansed and dry. The product can be applied to psoriatic lesions and gently massaged. The product can be alternated with usual topical treatments with corticosteroids.
Do not use for more than 30 days.
Warnings and precautions
XERIAL DM PSORIASIS is for external use only. If the problem persists, stop using and consult a doctor. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the product beyond the expiry date indicated on the packaging. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Shelf life: 12 months after opening. Store between 4°C and 22.5°C.
Contraindications
Do not use the product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients listed above. XERIAL DM PSORIASIS is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women due to lack of proven and sufficient scientific tests. Adults.

SVR TIPS
During the shower
• Prefer showers to baths, avoiding very high temperatures (<36°C)
• Avoid staying too long in the shower or in the tub (20 minutes maximum)
• Prefer soap-free cleansers such as Topilayse Huile Lavante (lightly scented) or Topialyse Baume Lavant (fragrance-free).
After the shower:
• Dry your body with a soft towel without rubbing
• Apply Xerial DM Psoriasis to the areas affected by psoriatic symptoms, making sure the skin is well cleansed and dry.
• On the rest of the body, apply your usual moisturizing treatment. Xerial 10 Lait is ideal for hydrating and smoothing the skin.
Although you may feel an intense itching sensation, it is essential to try not to scratch the skin in order not to worsen the lesions. Scratching for five minutes can contribute to the flare-up of psoriasis for three weeks4.
Stress is one of the factors that can worsen psoriasis, but it is not a direct cause. However, it is important to try to limit prolonged exposure to stress. If you feel overwhelmed, meditation and some relaxation techniques may help calm your mood.
