Description
PRISMA Skin is a sterile medical device for topical use consisting of a water-soluble opaque matrix, composed mainly of sodium alginate and hyaluronic acid, and mesoglycan.
The opaque matrix, consisting of a solid, dry and thin biofilm, is accompanied by a transparent sheet of inert material engraved on the central axis, which is removed when applying it to the lesion to be treated. PRISMA Skin, in contact with the lesion to be treated, absorbs water from the exudate, forming a gel that acts as a barrier against bacteria, exerts a buffer effect on the pH of the lesion, maintains a moist microenvironment and promotes effective wound healing.
It is indicated for the dressing of skin lesions secondary to spontaneous pathologies (e.g.: ulcers of the lower limbs in subjects with chronic venous insufficiency, ischemic ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers) or due to environmental or traumatic causes (e.g.: bedsores, abrasion lesions, burns).
PRISMA Skin is indicated for the dressing of cleansed wounds with moderate to low exudate or lesions in the granulation phase. Any necrotic tissue must be removed before treatment using the most appropriate methods depending on the specific type of wound.
How to use
Wound preparation : Cleanse the wound with saline solution. PRISMA Skin is not an adhesive plaster and can be applied under commonly used dressings, including elastic-compressive bandages used for ulcers caused by chronic venous insufficiency.
Application : After thoroughly cleaning your hands, open the sealed aluminium pouch, remove the transparent sheets made of inert material (if not already separated when opening the blister, the sheets must be manually separated from the matrix) and apply PRISMA Skin (opaque matrix) directly to the entire surface of the lesion.
If the lesion is small, PRISMA Skin can be cut using scissors previously cleaned with a common disinfectant solution to better adapt it to its surface; if it is larger, it is recommended to use more than one sheet to cover the entire lesion.
PRISMA Skin in contact with the wound forms a water-soluble gel that covers the lesion. Any residues are removed with normal cleansing carried out before the next dressing.
Frequency of replacement : PRISMA Skin is applied at each dressing change. The use of PRISMA Skin does not change the frequency of dressing changes provided for in the clinical protocols used for each specific type of wound.

Support: polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
Warnings
The product is for external use.
Once the sachet is opened, the product must be used as soon as possible.
Once removed from the aluminium bag, the product should be placed directly on the lesion.
Do not reuse cut-out parts.
Use disinfected scissors to cut PRISMA Skin.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity or individual allergy to one or more components of the product.
PRISMA Skin does not have bactericidal activity and should not be used on colonized or infected lesions.
Prolonged use of topical products may give rise to sensitization phenomena; if such phenomena should occur, it is advisable to suspend treatment and consult a doctor.
During pregnancy and in children under three years of age, the product can be used after consulting a doctor.
Keep the product out of reach of children.
Do not use the device beyond the expiration date.
Do not use if package is damaged.
Expiry and storage
Store in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources and protected from light.
The expiry date refers to the intact and correctly stored product.
The expiry date is shown on the package.
