Food for special medical purposes developed for the nutritional support of preterm or low-weight infants fed breast milk.
Specifically formulated to fortify breast milk, in line with the criteria established by the ESPGHAN 2010 document for the nutrition of low birth weight premature babies.
Combined with premature milk it provides 3.6 g/100 kcal of protein. It contains a lipid mixture consisting of triglycerides with medium chain fatty acids (MCT) and DHA.
Breast milk is the ideal food for preterm or low birth weight babies. Breastfeeding should last as long as possible.

How to use
Before preparation, wash your hands and sterilize the devices for administration. Prepare only one meal and administer it immediately.
The dosages given are indicative and can be modified, based on the doctor's recommendations, depending on the weight and age of premature/low birth weight infants.
The standard level of fortification is 1 g in 25 ml of breast milk. It is recommended to gradually increase the dose, starting from 2 g in 100 ml of breast milk. After assessing tolerability over 24 hours, increase the fortification (up to 4 g in 100 ml of breast milk) or follow the instructions established in the hospital.
1. Prepare one device (bottle, syringe, or enteral feeding container) at a time and administer immediately.
2. If the breast milk is frozen, thaw it gradually in the refrigerator (below 4°C). Do not use the microwave or leave it at room temperature to thaw it.
3. Shake/swirl breast milk before pouring into the device.
4. Pour only the required amount of breast milk to be fortified into the chosen device.
5. Before adding the fortifying agent, warm the breast milk to body temperature. Do not use the microwave.
6. Add the required amount of Nestlé preNAN FM 85 breast milk fortifier to the desired amount of warm breast milk (35°-40°C), following the standard preparation (1 g in 25 ml of breast milk) or a specific reconstitution, if prescribed by the doctor.
7. Recap and shake gently until the powder is completely dissolved and administer immediately.
8. Never store fortified milk left over after each meal.
9. Opened sachets should be used immediately or discarded.
10. For enteral nutrition: Once fortified breast milk is prepared, use it within 4 hours.
Warnings
Incorrect reconstitution may cause health risks to the infant. Never store fortified milk left over after each feeding. For predominantly hospital use, use under medical supervision.
Supervise the infant during administration, do not leave him alone to avoid choking.
It is not a complete food. It is not suitable for use in infants with known allergy to cow's milk proteins, lactose intolerance and congenital metabolic diseases such as galactosemia/glucose-galactose malabsorption. Do not administer parenterally.
Conservation
Store in a dry place away from heat sources.
Validity with intact packaging: 18 months.
