Description
Biatain Fiber
Pure sodium CMC dressing
Description
Biatain Fiber is a gelling fiber featuring HexaLock Technology, and is made of pure sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (100% NaCMC) welded into hexagonal units, with a non-woven fabric (TNT) structure, for greater tensile strength and optimal exudate management.
Thanks to HexaLock Technology, when Biatain Fiber is applied to the wound, and comes into contact with the wound exudate, the NaCMC fibers gel, the soft gel formed absorbs vertically and retains both the exudate and the bacteria contained in it.
Biatain Fiber, gelling, conforms perfectly to the wound bed creating an ideal moist environment that promotes healing. In addition, it facilitates the removal of non-viable tissue by activating fibrinolysis and promoting autolytic debridement. Sterilized with gamma rays. Product manufactured without natural rubber latex. Does not contain phthalates. Single-use product.
How to use
Biatain Fiber can be used on all types of chronic or acute lesions with medium-abundant exudate, such as leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, 1st and 2nd degree burns, skin donor areas for transplants, superficial wounds and abrasions, surgical or traumatic wounds that heal by secondary intention, oncological wounds, tunneled wounds, undermined wounds and fistulas. Biatain Fiber can be cut in any direction and can also be used under compression therapy. Maximum time in situ: 7 days.
