Description
Multi-layer absorbent dressing made from four layers of polyurethane foam, with border, Safetac soft silicone contact layer and slotted structure with Flex Technology.
1) Highly breathable and liquid-impermeable polyurethane outer film. Provides a barrier for bacteria. The new dotted grid on the outer film allows you to track the distribution of exudate without removing the dressing.
2) Non-woven distribution layer slit using Flex Technology. Distributes exudate evenly across the entire surface to maximize fluid management capacity.
3) Open-cell polyurethane absorbent foam layer for vertical absorption Instantly absorbs exudate and prevents its return, for protection of the periwound skin even under elastic compression.
4) Safetac soft silicone wound contact layer. The soft silicone technology, Safetac applied to Mölnlycke dressings, minimizes pain to patients and trauma to the wound even in critical situations, or when exudate begins to dry:
- adapts to the irregular surface of the skin to create a larger contact area, which allows for better distribution of the force required for removal, preventing skin stripping;
- leaves no residue either on the lesion bed or on healthy skin;
- seals the edges of the wound, preventing exudate from spreading to the perilesional skin, minimising the risk of maceration;
- does not adhere to moist surfaces, such as open wounds but to the dry edges of the wound.
Mepilex Border Flex Lite is suitable for the management of a wide range of non-exuding to moderately exuding wounds such as:
- pressure ulcers;
- ulcers of the lower limbs;
- post-operative injuries;
- traumatic injuries, such as abrasions, blisters and skin tears;
- can also be used to protect damaged and/or delicate skin.
Product Features:
1. The proven Safetac technology minimizes removal trauma, protects the periwound skin, thus preventing maceration.
2. Proprietary Flex Technology ensures excellent conformability, the dressing is able to extend 360° to follow the body's movements and prevent the dressing from coming off.
3. It can be left in situ for several days depending on the condition of the wound and the peri-wound skin.
4. It can be removed and repositioned without losing its micro-adhesive characteristics.
5. Maintains perfect adhesion even in the shower.
6. With less damage to the wound and skin, minimizes pain at dressing changes.
7. It can also be used as part of prophylactic therapy to help prevent skin damage, e.g. pressure ulcers.
8. Proprietary protective film, divided into 3 parts for the largest size, for precise and safe application, saving time and reducing waste.
9. Ease of application.
10. Maintains structural integrity and leaves no residue in the wound or on the surrounding skin.
Warnings
Do not use in patients sensitive to the components. The product is generally well tolerated. No interactions with other substances have been detected.
In case of sensitization of the treated area or clinical signs of infection, consult your healthcare professional for appropriate therapy to counteract the infection.
Do not use together with oxidizing agents such as hypochlorite solutions or hydrogen peroxide.
In case of infected wounds, use under medical supervision is recommended.
The polyurethane foam used in the product may change color and turn yellow when exposed to light, air and/or heat. The color change does not affect the properties of the product if used within the expiration date.
Do not reuse. Reusing the product may compromise its effectiveness and cause cross-contamination.
For external use.
Conservation
Store in a dry place below 35°C (95°F) away from extremes of humidity, dust, pollutants, etc.
Validity with intact packaging: 36 months.
