Description
HYPOTHERMIC CAP
Description
Hypothermic cap intended for the prevention of hair follicle toxicity associated with chemotherapy treatments.
Not all hospitals have devices for cooling the scalp during chemotherapy cycles. When it is not possible to use devices provided by the NHS, it is the patient who can obtain this type of product in order to prevent and contain hair loss.
The headphones are light and comfortable because the gel resulting from the activation of the crystals adapts perfectly to the anatomical configuration of the user.
Once the chemotherapy cycle is finished, the headphones can be dried and stored in a small space.
How to use
The package contains three caps that must be used in sequence: before, during and at the end of each chemotherapy cycle. The caps must be activated by immersion in warm water in order to allow the transformation of the powder contained inside the cap into gel.
The headset must be worn:
- before starting chemotherapy , at least 45-60 minutes and in any case until the cap exhausts its cooling power;
- during the chemotherapy session , for the entire duration of the administration and in any case until its cooling power is exhausted;
- after the therapy , at least 45-60 minutes (possibly even longer if the hair is thick and/or curly) and in any case until the cap exhausts its cooling power.
The length of time the cap is left in also depends on the chemotherapy drugs administered. If hair loss is observed after the first chemotherapy treatment, it is recommended to increase the cooling time after the infusion by about half an hour. This reduces the risk of further hair loss and increases the success rate of the overall treatment.
The product packaging contains detailed instructions for use which describe, step by step, the process of activating and cooling the device. Hand wash in warm water. Use a delicate detergent for synthetic fabrics. Do not use fabric softeners or bleach. Rinse and, if hand washed, do not wring. Do not tumble dry but hang in the shade, possibly in a draft, using the ties. Do not iron. Do not dry clean.
Warnings
Do not place near direct heat sources, do not place near sharp or pointed objects. The crystals are completely non-toxic: in case of material leakage (crystals or gel) remove the product with a damp cloth and wash the skin. In case of accidental ingestion, contact a Doctor immediately and request the safety data sheet from the Distributor. The product must absolutely not be heated by any means. Keep out of the reach of children or people with reduced cognitive abilities. Do not use if the product is damaged, broken, or without gel. If necessary, the code of the single spare part is also available.
The product does not contain any hazardous substances. Dispose of in accordance with current legislation.
Conservation
Validity with intact packaging: 60 months.
