Description
Eco-friendly clinical thermometer without mercury.
Medical device suitable for all types of measurement: rectal, axillary and oral. Practical and very simple to use.
Equipped with a magnifying glass to make it easier for parents to read their baby's temperature. Easy to reset, it is equipped with a practical blast chiller, so it is not a problem to lower the temperature after the measurement.
The glass thermometer is mercury-free, contains a non-toxic, environmentally friendly liquid, an alloy of gallium, indium and tin: galinstan.
Clinically tested.
How to use
Before starting the measurement, make sure that the value indicated by the gallium column is below 36°C. Position the thermometer on the body according to the type of measurement desired. After approximately 4 minutes, the thermometer has detected the body temperature and it will be possible to read it. Reading the temperature can be made easier by slightly rotating the thermometer. After the measurement, the indicator liquid must be brought back below 36°C. To do this, insert the thermometer into the appropriate support in the case, taking care to push it all the way in, passing the probe through the appropriate hole. Then hold the support and proceed with quick and rhythmic movements to lower the liquid below the first numbered notch. Clean the glass thermometer before and after use.
Oral measurement - Measurement duration: 4 minutes. Normal temperature: 37°C. Place the bulb of the thermometer under the tongue, breathing through the nose to avoid altering the measurement.
Rectal measurement - Measurement duration: 4 minutes. Normal temperature: 37.5°C. Gently insert the bulb of the thermometer into the anus for no more than 2 cm, stopping immediately if you feel any resistance.
Axillary measurement - Measurement duration: 4 minutes. Normal temperature 36.7°C. Make sure the armpit is dry, then place the thermometer bulb in the hollow of the armpit and press the arm against the bulb.
Warnings
Do not drop the thermometer or subject it to shock. Do not bend or bite the thermometer tip. Thermometers with damaged glass coating must no longer be used (risk of injury).
Keep out of reach of children. During the entire period of use, the child must always be assisted by an adult.
The measuring liquid galinstan cannot come into contact with noble or light metals due to the risk of reaction.
When measuring, take utmost care to avoid any risk of injury.
The use of the thermometer does not replace a medical consultation. A persistent fever, especially in children, should be treated by a doctor.
Cleaning and disinfection instructions : The thermometer has a hygienic and airtight glass casing, and can be disinfected without limits. The temperature of the cleaning and disinfecting solution must not exceed 42°C. Cleaning the glass thermometer before and after use can be done with cold soapy water.
Disinfect the thermometer with a cotton ball or cloth soaked in alcohol or immerse the thermometer in a disinfectant solution (soaking time depending on the instructions of the manufacturer of the disinfectant liquid). If the thermometer breaks, the leaked liquid can be collected and removed with a cellulose cloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water. The remains can be safely disposed of in household waste.
Conservation
Store in a dry place, at a temperature between -15°C and 42°C.
