Description
Calcium is a mineral widely distributed in nature in the form of carbonate (corals, oyster shells, cuttlefish bones, aragonite, calcite) and phosphate (apatites) and as a main constituent of the skeletal system of animal organisms. The richest food sources of calcium are laminaria algae, cheese, milk and other dairy products, dried fruit and some fish.
