Description
AQUACEL FOAM ADHESIVE FORMAT
Multilayered adhesive dressing made of hydrocellular polyurethane foam with a honeycomb structure, accompanied by a thin layer of hydrofibre in contact with the wound bed, an external polyurethane film and a silicone adhesive edge (hypoallergenic).
The mixed-cell polyurethane layer is highly hydrophilic, absorbent, exudate-retaining and breathable. The Hydrofiber Technology layer in direct contact with the wound bed allows AQUACEL Foam to actively interact with the wound itself, instantly forming a soft gel that maintains the moist environment and retains exudate, promoting healing and reducing the risk of maceration of the periwound skin.
The breathable outer film promotes the transmission of vapors and gases and creates an impermeable barrier to fluids and bacteria that protects the wound from external contamination.
The silicone adhesive edge is extremely gentle to remove, thin and repositionable.
AQUACEL Foam is indicated for use in low to medium exuding wounds on:
Traumatic wounds: small abrasions, lacerations, and small cuts.
Chronic wounds: lower limb ulcers (venous ulcers, arterial ulcers and mixed etiology ulcers), diabetic ulcers, partial thickness and full thickness pressure ulcers.
Acute wounds: surgical wounds (allowed to heal by secondary intention) and skin donor sites.
Oncological wounds: lesions with high exudate (skin fungal tumors, skin metastases and sarcoma).
It can be used as both a primary and secondary dressing.
LATEX FREE - PHTHALATES FREE.
How to use
Choose a dressing of a shape and size such that the central absorbent pad is larger than the wound area. Align the center of the dressing with the center of the wound and place the central pad of the dressing directly over the wound.
The dressing should be changed when clinically indicated or when it is saturated with exudate; in any case no later than 7 days after it has been in place.
AQUACEL Foam can be used as a primary dressing, or secondary in combination with other products.
Components
Sterile dressing composed of: an external waterproof polyurethane film, a layer of hydrophilic polyurethane with a thickness of 2.5 mm, density of around 300 g/m2 and cell size of 200-300 microns, an absorbent layer of non-woven fibres composed of pure sodium carboxymethyl cellulose in gelling fibres (NaCMC) surrounded by a thin and delicate silicone adhesive border.
Sterilization method: Sterilized by ethylene oxide.
