Description
Food intended for special medical purposes for the dietary treatment of children and adults with confirmed phenylketonuria and/or hyperphenylalaninemia.
Delayed release microtablets, indicated for children of all ages in relation to their ability to ingest, assessed by the attending physician.
Based on a phenylalanine-free amino acid blend.
Ingredients
L-lysine, L-aspartate, L-leucine, L-tyrosine, glycine; stabilizers: sodium alginate, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose; L-arginine, L-aspartate, L-valine, L-glutamine, L-proline, L-isoleucine, L-threonine; anti-caking agent: magnesium salts of fatty acids; L-serine, L-alanine, L-histidine; coating agents: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, cellulose, fatty acids; L-cystine, L-tryptophan, L-methionine, L-arginine; colour: E171; L-carnitine, L-tartrate, taurine.
Nutritional characteristics
*The salt content is due exclusively to the sodium present in the product, which amounts to 0.404 g per 100 g.
How to use
Dosage: as prescribed by the doctor, taking into account the patient's age, body weight, tolerance to phenylalanine and the characteristic that the amino acids will be released from the tablet after about three hours from intake. The cap of a jar contains about 13 g of micro tablets, equal to about 9.5 g of protein equivalents.
Take the prescribed amount with water or other permitted fluids.
Micro-tablets are tasteless; to avoid losing this characteristic, it is recommended not to chew them, pulverize them or dissolve them.
Warnings
Use under medical supervision.
The product releases the amino acids contained in the tablets within three hours of the patient taking them.
The product cannot be the sole source of power.
Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age.
Conservation
After use, close the jar tightly and store in a cool, dry place.
Validity in intact package: 18 months.
