When to use Thealoz Gel
Thealoz Gel is a fluid gel to be used on the surface of the eye during the day and night. You can use Thealoz Gel when you have moderate to severe signs and symptoms of dry eye such as discomfort, stinging or irritation of the eye. These symptoms can be caused by external factors such as wind, smoke, pollution, dust, sun or cold, dry heat, air conditioning, air travel, prolonged work in front of a computer screen. Thealoz Gel does not contain preservatives and prevents irritation and allergic reactions that may arise with the use of ophthalmic products that contain preservatives. The use of preservative-free products is advisable in case of ocular sensitivity or for prolonged use.
Property
Thealoz Gel is a preservative-free, sterile, hypotonic, pH-neutral fluid gel that helps keep the ocular surface moist. The main ingredients are trehalose, sodium hyaluronate, and carbomer (Carbopol 974P), which allows Thealoz Gel to remain on the eye longer. Trehalose protects, moisturizes, and is an antioxidant. Trehalose also has protective and cell membrane-stabilizing properties.
Sodium hyaluronate is a polysaccharide (complex molecule) found in the eye that keeps the surface of the eye hydrated and lubricated. It holds the solution on the ocular surface, providing long-lasting relief and shortening the healing time of the corneal epithelium (transparent surface of the eye). The carbomer allows Thealoz Gel to remain on the ocular surface longer, providing long-lasting relief from the signs and symptoms of dry eye.
The combination of trehalose, sodium hyaluronate and carbomer in Thealoz Gel hydrates, lubricates and also protects the ocular surface for a long time and with rapid relief.
