Description
Clearblue
Ovulation Test
Advanced Digital
Description
The Clearblue Advanced Digital Ovulation Test is a test that can identify an average of 4 fertile days per cycle.
The device detects the 2 main hormones associated with fertility, luteinizing hormone and estrogen, and identifies days with high and peak fertility, allowing for advance planning and increasing the chances of conceiving.
Through its algorithm, the test adapts to your specific hormonal profile, reducing the chances of error in identifying your fertile days.
The digital display clearly shows a Clearblue smiley face to indicate the best days to conceive.
How to use
Determine when to start testing.
Use the table on the package insert to determine when to start testing.
The day your period starts (first day of full menstrual flow) is day 1. Your cycle length is the total number of days between day 1 and the start of your next period.
If your menstrual cycle length varies, choose the shortest menstrual cycle of your last 6 cycles to determine when to start testing.
If you don't know the length of your menstrual cycle, wait at least one menstrual cycle and note its length so you know when to start testing.
It is important to start testing on the day that appears in the table, for example if your menstrual cycle is 27 days, start testing on day 7.
Always test using the first urine produced after your longest sleep period.
Remove the test stick from the aluminum foil and remove the cap.
Insert the test stick into the holder, making sure the purple arrows are aligned. The first time you test, the new cycle symbols will flash briefly.
The "test ready" symbol then appears.
Perform the test immediately.
If this symbol does not appear or the screen goes blank, eject the test stick and reinsert it into the holder.
Run the test.
It is possible:
- simply expose the absorbent tip to the urine stream for 3 seconds, keeping it pointing downwards. Be careful not to wet the stick holder
- collect a urine sample in a clean, dry container and immerse only the absorbent tip in the sample for 15 seconds.
Replace the cap and blot up any excess urine. Keep the absorbent end facing down or lay flat.
Within 1 minute, the “test ready” symbol flashes to show that the test is in progress.
Wait 5 minutes.
Reading the results:
- No smiley face: Estrogen and luteinizing hormone (LH) levels are low; pregnancy is unlikely
- Flashing smiley face: increased estrogen level, increased chances of getting pregnant
- Smiley face not flashing: LH surge detected, maximum chance of getting pregnant.
When you have finished testing, eject the stick as soon as possible after looking at the result and throw it away with your normal household waste.
