BGSTAR
TEST STRIPSBGSTAR is a CE medical device useful for determining blood sugar levels.
You can perform a blood glucose test using samples from your fingertips, palms (at the base of the thumb), and forearms. A small blood sample of 0.5 µL is all you need to perform a test with the BGStar™ system.
How to use
Blood sample application:
touch the test strip to the blood sample: the meter now displays the drop symbol. This symbol indicates that the BGStar™ system is now ready to apply the blood sample. Immediately touch the BGStar™ test strip to the blood sample.
The test strip is filled from the tip. Do not apply blood to the top of the test strip. The BGStar™ test strip acts like a sponge and absorbs blood into the strip through the sampling area. The BGStar™ test strip visual indicator will turn red.
Remove the test strip from the blood sample as soon as the meter beeps.
Do not press the BGStar™ test strip against the lancing area.
Do not scrape blood onto the BGStar™ test strip.
Do not apply blood to the top side of the BGStar™ test strip.
Do not apply blood to the BGStar™ test strip when the test strip is not inserted into the meter.
Do not insert blood or foreign objects into the BGStar™ strip insertion port. This may damage the system.
Stop applying blood when the unit beeps.
Please read the test results displayed on the screen carefully before making a treatment decision.
Warnings
Do not use if the safety seal on the package is tampered with.
Dispose of used test strips properly.
Use BGStar™ test strips only once.
Use only BGStar™ test strips with the BGStar™ or iBGStar™ system.
After removing the BGStar™ test strip from the bottle, immediately close the bottle cap tightly.
Handle BGStar™ test strips gently with clean, dry hands when removing them from the vial or inserting them into the meter.
Do not use BGStar™ test strips beyond the expiration date or 90 days after first opening the vial, otherwise inaccurate results may occur. Write the expiration date (90 days after first opening) on the vial containing the test strips.
Do not bend, cut or alter BGStar™ test strips.
Conservation
Store your BGStar™ test strip vial in a cool, dry place between 8°C and 30°C.
Use BGStar™ test strips only at a system operating temperature between 10°C and 40°C.
Keep away from direct sunlight and heat.
Store BGStar™ test strips only in their original bottle; never store them in another bottle, container, or outside the bottle.
