Description
Ear spray to treat inflammation/eczema of the ear canal.
It is used to treat external otitis, e.g. in relation to periods of frequent contact with water and/or humid environments.
How to use
Hold the bottle upright. Before using the spray for the first time, pump a few times to obtain a uniform spray.
Hold the tip of the nozzle against the outer ear canal and pump once or twice. Spray once or twice into the ear canal, morning and evening. Tilt your head after spraying so that the fluid flows as deeply into the ear canal as possible. Wipe away any excess fluid.
If your condition does not improve significantly within 1-3 days, consult a doctor.
Components
Aluminium acetate and aluminium acetotartrate (1.8% aluminium), acetic acid, water, pH 3-4.
Warnings
Otinova should not be used if there is a drainage tube in the eardrum or if it is suspected that the eardrum is perforated.
Otinova should not be used by children under 5 years of age unless recommended by a doctor (eardrum check).
Seek medical attention if you experience marked discomfort, tenderness in or around your ear, or if your hearing is impaired.
If you experience severe discomfort, avoid contact with water and do not pick at your ear with your fingers. Also avoid soap and shampoo.
Avoid contact with eyes.
Avoid inhaling the spray. Keep out of reach of children.
Otinova may cause a temporary mild irritation/burning sensation in the ear canal. If the irritation/burning sensation persists or worsens, contact a doctor. Rare cases of local hypersensitivity have been reported. Individual cases of perforated eardrums have occurred in association with extreme salt precipitation in high doses for continuous periods of more than 20 days. In case of contact with eyes, rinse thoroughly with water.
In case of overdose and/or prolonged use, saline precipitations and severe dehydration of the ear canal may occur.
Do not use Otinova for a continuous period longer than 7 days.
Conservation
Store at room temperature.
Do not use after the expiry date, which is stated on the package.
Validity after opening: 6 months.
