Description
Medical device capable of effectively alleviating symptoms related to swelling of both the stomach (aerophagia) and the intestine (meteorism) due to gas accumulation. It alleviates cramps and associated pain and prevents flatulence and belching.
The effectiveness of the device is due to the anti-foaming action of simethicone, combined with the adsorbent action of activated carbon against intestinal gas: the action is therefore based exclusively on mechanical phenomena.
The double-layered conformation of the tablet allows for the release of approximately 50% of the ingredients in the gastric environment within 15 minutes of taking the device, while the complete disintegration of the tablet occurs in the intestinal environment within 1 hour.
The components are not absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and do not interfere with the absorption of nutrients.
How to use
• Adults: we recommend taking 1 or 2 tablets at the end of each main meal up to a maximum of 4 tablets per day.
• Children aged 14 to 18 years: 1 tablet at the end of each main meal up to a maximum of 2 tablets per day.
Remove the tablet from the blister, taking care not to break it, and take it with the help of a glass of water.
Components
One double-layer tablet contains: 50 mg simethicone, 300 mg charcoal.
Excipients: maltodextrin, sucrose, microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, polyvinylpyrrolidone, colloidal silica, croscarmellose sodium, polyvinylpolypyrrolidone, glycerol behenate, silicon dioxide, vegetable magnesium stearate.
Warnings
Do not use under 14 years of age.
Keep the device out of reach of children.
In case of subjects with swallowing difficulties, it is advisable to take the medical device with plenty of water.
Do not use the device after the expiry date shown on the packaging and blister.
Do not use if package is damaged.
Each tablet is for single use only and must be removed from the package only immediately before taking it; do not attempt to reuse partially used tablets (crushed or broken) or tablets removed from the blister at unknown times, as this method of use could lead to risks of contamination of the product.
Do not exceed the recommended doses.
Do not use if you have known gastric or intestinal lesions.
Do not use if intestinal blockage occurs.
Do not take the medical device in conjunction with other devices or oral medicinal specialties: the adsorbent power of activated charcoal and simethicone could reduce their effectiveness. Consult your doctor in case of ongoing pharmacological therapies.
Simethicone may hinder the effect of some reagents used in diagnostics, such as guaiac gum.
Taking the device is not recommended in case of known hypersensitivity of the user to one of the components.
Since there is insufficient data to support use during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in these cases use the device only in cases of real need and only after consulting your doctor.
At the recommended doses, a brown coloration of the stool may be observed due to the presence of carbon. This phenomenon is completely normal and does not imply any pathological significance.
No known medium/long-term side effects have been reported.
The device does not negatively affect sensory abilities (level of attention, ability to drive or perform activities).
Conservation
Store the tablets in the blister in a dry place, away from direct light or heat: remove the tablets only when in use. Store the device below 25 °C.
Validity with intact packaging: 30 months.
