Description
VETERINARY SCREEN TEST
ScreenVet Urinary Tract Infection
Rapid Test Urinary Tract Infection Dog Cat (Urine)
Description
Test for the rapid detection of multiple analytes in animal urine.
The test is for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of one or more of the following analytes in urine: ascorbic acid, glucose, bilirubin, ketone (acetoacetic acid), specific gravity, blood, pH, protein, urobilinogen, nitrite and leukocytes.
Urinalysis test strips (urine) are for single use only.
For veterinary use only.
How to use
The urine specimen should be collected in a clean, dry container and tested as soon as possible. Do not centrifuge. The use of urine preservatives is not recommended. If testing cannot be performed within one hour of collection, immediately refrigerate the specimen and return to room temperature prior to testing. Prolonged storage of urine not stored at room temperature may result in bacterial growth with changes in pH. A shift to an alkaline pH may cause false positive results in the protein test area.
Bring the strip, urine sample and/or controls to room temperature (15-30°C) before testing.
Remove the strip from the closed package and use it as soon as possible. Close the package immediately after removing the required number of strips.
Completely immerse the test strip's reactive areas in fresh, thoroughly mixed urine and remove the strip immediately to avoid dissolving the reagents. When removing the strip from the urine, run the edge of the strip against the rim of the urine container to remove excess fluid.
Hold the strip horizontally and touch the edge of the strip to an absorbent material (e.g. a paper towel) to prevent mixing of chemicals from adjacent test areas and/or getting urine on your hands.
Compare the test areas to the corresponding color blocks on the package label according to the specified times. Hold the strip close to the color blocks and compare it carefully.
Results can be read up to 2 minutes beyond the specified times. Results can also be read using the Urine Analyzer.
The results are obtained by direct comparison with the color blocks printed on the packaging.
The color blocks represent nominal values; actual values vary similarly to nominal values.
In case of unexpected or questionable results, the following steps are recommended: ensure that the strips have been used within the expiration date printed on the package, compare the results with known positive and negative controls, and repeat the test using a new strip. If the problem persists, immediately stop using the strip and contact your local distributor.
Warnings
For in vitro diagnostic use only. Do not use beyond expiration date.
The strip must remain closed in the package until use.
Do not touch the reaction areas of the strip.
Discard any discolored strips that may have deteriorated.
All specimens should be considered potentially hazardous and handled as infectious agents.
The used strip should be disposed of according to local regulations after use.
Conservation
Store at room temperature or refrigerated (2-30°C). Keep away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
Validity with intact packaging: 24 months.
Validity after opening: 3 months.
Format
The kit contains:
- 5 test strips;
- package leaflet.
