Description
Castor oil [Ricinus communis L. (Fam. Euphorbiaceae)] arborescent and perennial in its tropical origins, in our climates the castor oil plant becomes an annual plant up to 2 meters tall, whose seeds, in groups of three, are enclosed in trilocular capsules that open spontaneously when ripe. From them a viscous, light yellow oil is extracted, with a typical odor, widely used for external use.
