Description
REVAGIX
Description
Medical device in tablets useful in all cases of alteration of the vaginal microflora. It can be used in cases of foul-smelling leucorrhoea caused by nonspecific vaginitis or after treatment with chemotherapeutic drugs and antibiotics for specific vaginitis (from candida, trichomonas, mycoplasma, etc.) as a complement to antimicrobial therapy to reconstruct the vaginal bacterial flora, restoring the physiological conditions of the vaginal microenvironment.
Contains lactobacillus acidophilus, lactic acid and soy isoflavones. The uro-vaginal system is characterized by a complex microbial ecosystem that physiologically carries out a natural defense against bacterial infections and candida; normal vaginal secretion has an acidic pH between 3.8 and 4.5 and this acidity is maintained by a normal level of estrogen, such as that of women of childbearing age, and by a constant bacterial flora. The bacterial flora that colonizes the vaginal mucosa is in fact mainly made up of lactobacilli (Doderlein's bacillus), which metabolize glycogen to lactic acid, responsible for maintaining the acidic environment that makes colonization and development of pathogenic microflora unfavorable. When the microbial balance is temporarily altered by hormonal factors (menstruation, pregnancy, menopause), by incorrect hygiene habits (frequent use of vaginal douches, internal tampons, contraceptive devices) or by the use of antibiotics, infections may arise from pathogenic agents that profoundly alter the microbial composition of the urogenital system, with a drastic reduction in lactobacilli and manifestations of vaginitis and/or bacterial vaginosis. The most common symptoms are burning, itching, dysuria and smelly vaginal secretions. Thanks to its particular composition, once dissolved in the vagina, the Revagix tablet releases its functional components within a few minutes.
Lactic acid, lactobacilli and isoflavones, by lowering the pH, promote the acidification of the vaginal environment to counteract the aggression and growth of pathogenic microorganisms, thus improving the well-being and elasticity of the vaginal walls.
How to use
It is recommended to use one vaginal tablet of Revagix, preferably in the evening, before going to bed, for 10 consecutive days of treatment. Start treatment 10 days before the start of the menstrual cycle and/or immediately after its end.
At the doctor's discretion, treatment can be extended up to twenty days. Revagix can be used for repeated cycles.
When removing the tablet from the blister, pay particular attention: do not lever the centre of the pocket as the tablet, given its size, could break; instead, apply light pressure on the end in the pocket or, alternatively, cut the aluminium on the back of the blister, lift it and remove the tablet.
Use the tablet immediately after removal from the blister. The intact tablet must be introduced deeply into the vagina, in order to facilitate its rapid dissolution.
Components
Each tablet contains: lactobacillus acidophilus, lactic acid, soybean extract standardized to 40% isoflavones.
Excipients: mannitol, starch, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, glycerol behenate, silicon dioxide.
Warnings
If hypersensitivity to the product occurs, consult your doctor immediately. Any mild itching during the first few days of treatment tends to disappear quickly. If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
Do not use Revagix together with other medical devices and/or drugs for vaginal use, without consulting your gynecologist.
Do not use the device after the expiry date indicated on the package. Do not use if the package or blister is damaged or if the product is excessively friable. This characteristic could be due to incorrect conservation and/or storage of the product and consequent degradation. The presence of slight speckling is due to the natural characteristics of the product. Do not expose the product to thermal shock.
Do not use Revagix in pre-pubertal age, it is recommended to use the product in adolescence only under the advice of a gynecologist.
It is recommended not to take more than the indicated quantities, as higher doses may cause the onset of unexpected side effects. Do not use for more than 30 consecutive days, if symptoms persist consult your doctor.
