Soft Convex Plates
Description
Medical device for use with NovaLife 2 Colostomy, Ileostomy and Urostomy Bags.
The barrier is composed of 2 layers: the primary layer in contact with the peristomal area has been designed to ensure a pH buffering effect, resistance to erosion and skin-friendly properties, the secondary layer is designed to protect the underlying layer.
The plate, oval in shape with a 6 mm convexity in the centre and a centred cutting hole, has the following characteristics:
- hydrocolloid TRE;
- Protective barrier with differentiated thickness (decreasing from the centre to the edges) to promote flexibility and adaptability to the contours of the body;
- self-propelled flange to allow atraumatic application without pressure on the abdomen and to ensure freedom of movement.
How to use
It is recommended to keep the plate in place for 48 to 72 hours.
Components
The hydrocolloid plaque is composed of:
- first layer: polyisobutylene, polymer thickeners, styrene isoprene styrene, polyethylene;
- second layer: polyisobutylene, pectin, carboxymethyl cellulose, styrene isoprene styrene, polyethylene;
- transparent, writable polyester protective film;
- Ring for attachment to the PE bag;
- Plate support in breathable synthetic EMA material;
- Self-propelled flange in PE;
- White/transparent convex insert made of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.

Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
