Description
Liquid paraffin
Saddle
Description
Lubricating oil laxative indicated:
-in case of occasional constipation;
-for those who cannot make an effort to expel fecal mass.
-after abdominal surgery in order to avoid the formation of particularly hard stools which could cause difficulty in defecation with consequent excessive abdominal thrusts which are potentially harmful.
Sella Liquid Paraffin coats the fecal material and creates a lipid film along the intestinal walls, slowing down the physiological absorption of water.
The water not absorbed by the intestine helps soften the stool. In addition, Sella Liquid Paraffin lubricates the stool, facilitating its passage inside the intestine, without irritating the mucosa.
How to use
The product is recommended when a softer fecal mass and a faster flow along the intestinal loops are needed or in the presence of diverticula.
It is particularly suitable for those subjects for whom excessive effort during defecation is not recommended (for example in the case of hernia, hypertension, vascular disorders of the anus or rectum, presence of hemorrhoids, recent surgery on the abdomen, intestine or rectum).
Do not use the product in case of:
-hypersensitivity (allergy) to the component;
-nausea, vomiting, acute or unknown abdominal pain;
-intestinal obstruction or stenosis;
-gastrointestinal disorders such as appendix, ulcerative colitis, rectal bleeding of unknown origin;
-acute hemorrhoidal crisis with pain and bleeding;
-severe state of dehydration;
-subjects with difficulty swallowing or who have pathologies (for example hiatal hernia) or conditions (for example debilitated people confined to bed) that involve the risk of regurgitation;
-colostomy/ilestomy;
-concomitant use of other laxatives or stool softeners.
Note: Always consult your doctor or pharmacist if symptoms persist.
Take the product during or after meals, preferably in the evening and at least one hour before going to bed.
From 6 to 11 years : 2-3 teaspoons per day, in a single administration.
From 12 years : 2-3 tablespoons per day, in a single administration.
Components
Vaseline oil.
Warnings
Products with a laxative effect should be used as infrequently as possible and for no more than seven days. A diet rich in liquids promotes the effect of the product. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Possible side effects : metabolism and nutrition disorders. Liquid paraffin may interfere with the absorption of fat-soluble substances, such as vitamins A, D, E, K, especially after prolonged use of the product. Isolated cramp-like pain or abdominal colic, more frequent in cases of severe constipation. Rectal oozing (leakage, dripping) of paraffin with consequent anal irritation and itching, rectal bleeding, especially after prolonged use of the product. Lipoid pneumonia and oil embolism, due to accidental inhalation of the product.
Overdose and abuse : abuse of preparations with laxative effect (frequent or prolonged use or with excessive doses) can cause abdominal pain, persistent diarrhea with consequent loss of water, mineral salts (especially potassium) and other essential nutrients. Fluid and electrolyte losses must be replaced. Electrolyte imbalances are characterized by the following symptoms: thirst, vomiting, weakness, edema, bone pain (osteomalacia) and hypoalbuminemia. In more serious cases, dehydration or hypokalemia may occur, which can cause cardiac or neuromuscular dysfunction, especially in the case of simultaneous treatment with cardiac glycosides, diuretics or corticosteroids. If episodes of constipation occur repeatedly, a doctor should be consulted.
Conservation
Store in a tightly closed bottle, in a cool place, away from heat sources and away from light when reopened.

Capacity: 250 ml.
