Description
Food supplement based on DHA, palmitoylethanolamide, vitamins, zinc, coenzyme Q10, zeaxanthin and lutein. Vitamin C and vitamin E contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Zinc and DHA contribute to the maintenance of normal vision. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250 mg of DHA (the daily intake also includes the amount of DHA taken with food).
Property
-Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA): is a lipid mediator naturally synthesized by the body's cells, essential for maintaining homeostasis. Present in various ocular tissues, it acts on the innervated structures of the eye, counteracting inflammation and tissue degeneration resulting from various pathological conditions such as glaucoma, ocular hypertension, optic neuropathies and retinopathies. The persistence of a neuroinflammatory state leads to a reduced endogenous synthesis of PEA by the tissues, with consequent exacerbation of the pathological process. Therefore, PEA intake through dietary supplementation becomes essential.
-Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10): In addition to its well-established antioxidant action, it is involved in all the body's energy synthesis processes. It therefore plays a crucial role in retinal pathologies where oxidative stress and energy insufficiency are the basis of structural and functional alterations of retinal ganglion cells.
-Vitamin C and vitamin E: with antioxidant action, they are essential in the treatment of glaucoma and retinal alterations as several clinical studies demonstrate that in patients affected by these pathological conditions the serum levels of various vitamins, including C and E, are significantly reduced compared to healthy subjects.
-Lutein and zeaxanthin: both belonging to the carotenoid family, they are pigments present in high concentrations in the retina, especially in the central macula (Zeaxanthin) and peripheral macula (Lutein). These molecules act as a filter by selectively absorbing harmful blue light and exert a simultaneous antioxidant action. Numerous observational and interventional studies have indicated that lutein and zeaxanthin reduce the risk of various eye diseases, in particular age-related macular degeneration.
-Zinc: mineral present in high concentrations in the retina, retinal pigment epithelium and choroid, structures fundamental to vision. Several clinical evidences describe the beneficial effect of zinc administration in the presence of degenerative retinal pathologies.

How to use
