Description
UrgoTul Ag/Silver
NON-ADHERENT DRESSING
WITH LIPID-COLLOIDAL TECHNOLOGY (TLC)
AND SILVER IONS
Indications: Lightly exuding lesions with signs of local infection or at risk of infection.
- Broad-spectrum antibacterial efficacy.
- Healing in a moist environment.
- Painless and atraumatic removal.
- High tolerability.
DESCRIPTION
- Sterile non-occlusive, non-adhesive and antibacterial lipid-colloidal contact layer (from Lipid-Colloidal Technology, an exclusive innovation patented by Laboratoires Urgo).
COMPOSITION
UrgoTul Ag/Silver is a lipid-colloidal dressing consisting of a polyester mesh impregnated with lipid-colloidal particles (Carboxymethylcellulose), Vaseline particles and silver ions.
STERILIZATION METHOD
Ionizing radiation.
PROPERTY
- Silver ions have a bactericidal action on most microorganisms involved in secondary infections: gram-positive (MRSA, Staphylococcus Aureusà), gram-negative (Pseudomonas Aeruginosaà) and yeasts.
- In contact with the wound exudate, the hydrocolloidal particles of the product form a lipid-colloidal gel and create a moist environment favorable to the healing process.
- Silver ions are incorporated into this lipid-colloidal gel, carrying out their antibacterial activity only in the area in contact with the lesion.
- Due to its composition it does not adhere to the lesion or surrounding skin. Removal of the dressing is painless and atraumatic for the lesion.
- It is flexible and comfortable.
DIRECTIONS
- Indicated for the local treatment of acute, low to moderately exuding wounds and chronic wounds at risk of infection or with signs of local infection.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- Cleanse the lesion with saline solution.
- If an antiseptic has been used previously, rinse the lesion thoroughly with saline solution before applying the product.
- Remove the protective transparent films from the dressing.
- Apply directly to the lesion. If necessary, it can be cut using sterile scissors to adapt the size of the dressing to the lesion.
- Cover with a secondary dressing.
- Apply a compression bandage, when prescribed.
PRECAUTIONS
- Treatment with the product must be performed under medical supervision.
- Avoid contact with electrodes or conductive gels used in EEG or ECG.
- May adhere to latex surgical gloves. Therefore, it is recommended to moisten the gloves with normal saline solution to hold the dressing more easily.
- In the absence of any specific clinical data, use is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, newborns or premature babies.
- Single-use single-use dressings: reusing a single-use dressing could expose you to the risk of infection.
- Do not resterilize.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to silver and other components of the medication.
- Do not use on patients undergoing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).
STATUS
- Medical device, class III.
Format
Pack containing 5 individually divided sterile dressings, ready to use.
