CORN STARCH
FOR SOFT AND LIGHT SWEETS
ALSO IDEAL FOR COMPLETING
SAUCES, STEWS AND SOUPS
Corn starch is a precious ingredient for making desserts soft and light.
The desserts prepared with this product acquire, in addition to a soft consistency, a very delicate flavour, which cannot be obtained by using other flours alone.
The product is also an ideal ingredient for thickening sauces, stews, braised meats and soups in a few minutes; its neutral taste, in fact, does not cover the characteristic flavour of foods.
Gluten free.
How to use
Cakes and desserts: use half the amount of Maizena corn starch and half the amount of flour (for the preparation of particularly crumbly cakes, use two thirds of Maizena corn starch and one third of flour).
Puddings and creams: replace the amount of flour called for in the recipe with the same amount of Maizena corn starch.
Sauces and stews: dissolve a level tablespoon of Maizena corn starch in 50 ml of cold liquid (water, milk or broth) to bind approximately 200 g of sauce.
Soups: dissolve a level tablespoon of Maizena corn starch in 50 ml of water to bind approximately 500 g of preparation.
The product should be added to the dish being prepared at the end of cooking.
Do not prolong cooking because a few minutes are enough.
For easier dosing: one level tablespoon of product corresponds to 10 g of product.
Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place.
