Food supplement based on myo-inositol, alpha-lactalbumin and folic acid useful for providing an additional quota of these substances, in case of reduced dietary intake or increased need.
Myo-inositol is a molecule normally produced by our body and present in some foods. Its physiological role is to mediate the body's response to stimuli from various hormones, such as insulin and FSH, the follicle stimulating hormone. Insulin is the hormone that regulates sugar metabolism, while FSH stimulates the growth of follicles until ovulation. The action of both these hormones is altered in women with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) and several clinical studies have shown that continuous integration of myo-inositol can be useful in normalizing the metabolic and hormonal profile of these women.
Alpha-lactalbumin is a whey protein that improves intestinal absorption of myo-inositol. This property is essential in “myo-inositol-resistant” subjects who do not respond effectively to supplementation with myo-inositol alone.
Folic acid is a water-soluble vitamin of the B group. It is involved in the synthesis of DNA, RNA and proteins, in the process of cell division and in the repair of chromosomes. It contributes to the normal growth of maternal tissues during pregnancy, and a deficiency can determine an increase in intrafollicular homocysteine with a consequent reduction in oocyte quality. Furthermore, scientific studies have shown that a reduced intake of folic acid is often related to fetal growth defects and the development of neural tube defects. Dietary supplementation of folic acid increases maternal folate status.
How to use
It is recommended to take one sachet twice a day away from meals.
To ensure a constant supply of inositol, it is necessary to take the two sachets 12 hours apart.
Dissolve the contents in a glass of water.
