Glycerol, the active ingredient in this medicine, is used to facilitate the elimination of feces. The laxative effect is obtained thanks to the ability of glycerol to soften the feces and to cause a slight local irritant action that stimulates intestinal movements.
This medicine is indicated for the symptomatic relief of occasional and transient constipation. Contact your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.

Glycerol Carlo Erba contains: Active ingredient: Glycerol 1375 mg
Excipients: Sodium stearate - Sodium carbonate.
How to use Glicerolo Carlo Erba Children
Glicerolo Carlo Erba is administered according to the following doses
- Children aged 2-11 years: 1 suppository as needed, for a maximum of 1 or 2 administrations per day
Remove the suppository from its container and then, if necessary, moisten it to facilitate rectal introduction. If the suppositories appear softened, immerse the containers in cold water before opening them.
Contraindications for the use of Glicerolo Carlo Erba Children
- Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
- Acute or unknown abdominal pain,
- Nausea or vomiting
- Intestinal obstruction or stenosis
- Rectal bleeding of unknown origin
- Acute hemorrhoidal crisis with pain and bleeding
- Severe state of dehydration.
Special warnings for Glicerolo Carlo Erba Children
Laxatives should be used as infrequently as possible and for no more than seven days. Use for longer periods of time requires a doctor's prescription after adequate evaluation of the individual case.
