Property
Rhodiola has properties as a mood modulator, antidepressant, adaptogen. It is able to determine an increase in the concentration of serotonin in the brain, increase the availability of dopamine, adrenaline, noradrenaline, antagonizing the circuits that give rise to addictions. The adaptogenic and anti-stress actions generally favor learning and memory abilities. Source of flavonoids, essential for attacking free radicals.
Melilotus officinalis contains some coumarins that are able to inhibit the cytochrome that metabolizes nicotine in the liver (called CYP2A6), and therefore plays a fundamental role in smoking addiction. It acts at the lymph node level with a lymphokinetic effect, strongly draining. Coumarin is useful in case of problems related to venous-lymphatic insufficiency; it also stimulates the SRE (Reticuloendothelial System) and the proteolytic capacities of macrophages, it also improves microcirculation, stabilizes the erythrocyte membrane as it is capable of increasing tissue oxygenation.
Syzygium aromaticum is an antioxidant spice, due to the fact that it contains high levels of phenolic compounds (especially eugenol). It is a neuroprotective, improves memory and has antipsychotic activities.
Nasturtium officinalis , nasturtium, alters the metabolism of nicotine, through a significant increase in the glucuronidation of cotinine and trans-3'-hydroxycotinine. It contains vitamins A, C, E; the minerals Iron, Magnesium, Copper, Zinc, exerting antioxidant, immunomodulatory, remineralizing action.
Passionflower incarnata acts as a benzodiazepine receptor agonist, inhibits monoamine oxidase, interacts with benzodiazepine-GABA and serotonin receptor sites, and inhibits choline and dopamine uptake, reinforcing the reward circuit. It has sedative and anxiolytic properties in attenuating nicotine withdrawal symptoms.
Crataegus oxycantha , hawthorn, is traditionally used to protect the cardiovascular system from damage caused by smoking. It has an important effect on the cardiovascular system.
Tilia tormentosa has a sedative action at the cerebral level, useful especially in anxious, hyperexcitable subjects and with symptoms linked to the somatization of anxiety at the visceral level.
