Medical device with laxative action, indicated for the symptomatic treatment of constipation.
It promotes peristalsis, helping to have adequate intestinal evacuation, thus counteracting constipation and preventing the formation of fecalomas.
It also facilitates the elimination of intestinal gas, reducing the sensation of bloating and abdominal distension.
Macrogol is a high molecular weight, water-soluble inert polymer that has the ability to bind to the water used for intake, retaining it in the feces. It determines a rehydration and softening of the fecal mass and facilitates its evacuation. It accelerates intestinal transit by promoting peristalsis. It is not absorbed or metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract and does not lead to hydro-electrolytic imbalances, if taken with the indicated dose of liquid.
Simethicone is a substance that has the ability to reduce the surface tension of gas bubbles present in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating their expulsion.
How to use
Use the measuring cup included in the package to measure the powder: fill it level and not pressed, then remove the excess quantity of product with the blade of a knife.
Children aged 6 months to 12 years (adults/children ≤43 kg)
- from 6-10 kg: 1 level scoop per day;
- from 10-15 kg: 1-2 level scoops per day;
- from 16-20 kg: 2-3 level scoops per day;
- 21-43 kg: 3-4 level scoops per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow regular evacuation of soft stools.
The maximum dose required does not normally exceed 4 scoops per day.
Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (50 ml for each measuring cup) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if you need to take 1 measuring cup per day. For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.
Adults and children over 12 years of age (>43 kg)
- 2 to 10 level scoops per day.
The dose should be increased or decreased, depending on the individual response to treatment, to allow regular evacuation of soft stools.
The maximum dose required does not normally exceed 10 scoops per day.
Dissolve the powder in water or other liquid (50 ml for each measuring cup) and take immediately. It is recommended to administer the product in the morning if the minimum dose is to be taken (2 measuring cups per day). For larger doses, divide the intake between morning and evening.

Warnings
It is recommended to use the product in pediatric age after consulting the doctor. Administration in children must be carried out under the direct supervision of an adult.

Do not use if package is opened or damaged.
Do not exceed the maximum daily dose.
Keep the product or the resulting solution out of the reach of children.
If you do not notice any improvement after 7 days of treatment, it is advisable to consult your doctor.
The product may reduce the time spent in the intestine and therefore the absorption of oral medications. It is therefore advisable to consult your doctor in case of concomitant intake of oral medications, which must in any case be administered at least 2 hours apart.
In case of adverse reactions, even if different from those listed, stop treatment and consult your doctor. Some gastrointestinal disorders may occur (stomach ache, flatulence, abdominal swelling, nausea and fecal incontinence). Diarrhea is a secondary effect of taking excessive doses of Dicopeg esse and can be avoided by reducing the dose. Cases of hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash) have been reported rarely following the use of products containing macrogol. In this case, stop treatment and consult your doctor.
Do not take Dicopeg esse in case of known hypersensitivity to macrogol or other components, intestinal perforation, obstruction or stenosis, paralytic ileus, severe inflammatory diseases of the intestinal tract such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and toxic megacolon.
The use of laxatives is contraindicated in case of acute or unknown abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rectal bleeding of unknown origin and in case of severe dehydration.
Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and heat sources.
The expiry date indicated refers to the product correctly stored in intact packaging.
Validity with intact packaging: 24 months.
