Description
Non-sterile solution indicated in naso-sinus pathologies and their complications (acute rhino-sinusitis, chronic purulent rhino-sinusitis, naso-sinus polyposis, allergic rhinopathies, mycotic rhinitis, secretory otitis media), characterized by: edema of the naso-sinus mucosa, alteration of the pneumatization of the paranasal sinuses, reduction or loss of ciliary mobility and motility, accumulation of muco-purulent secretions in the naso-sinus area and in the auditory tubes.
The solution containing cucurbitacins BDIE, administered in micro drops into the nostrils by nasal spray, produces an action on the surface of the mucosal epithelium that causes an electrolytic and osmotic alteration, which is followed by a physiological process of expulsion of mucopurulent secretions present in the nasal-sinus district and in the auditory tubes, the restoration of ciliary mobility and motility, the reduction of edema of the nasal-sinus mucosa, the restoration of pneumatization of the paranasal sinuses, the reduction of the size of nasal-sinus polyps.
How to use
Adults and children (age >10 years)
Spray 2 times per nostril (morning and evening) for 7 consecutive days. Treatment can be extended up to 14 days or repeated 6-7 days after the first (depending on the symptoms and the mucopurulent secretions present).
For use of the product in chronic nasal-sinus pathologies or after surgery, it is recommended to repeat the treatment for at least 2 cycles, separated by 6 days of non-treatment.
Components
Functional substances: cucurbitacins BDIE 50 mcg/ml extracted from Ecballium elaterium; excipients: purified water, mint flavouring, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate.
Warnings
All operations must be carried out delicately, avoiding introducing the spray dispenser too deeply into the nostrils and maintaining an upright position during administration. Close the bottle after each application.
The product should not be administered to children under 10 years of age and pregnant women.
The use of the product in association with sympathomimetic drugs is not recommended, as it may cause a decrease in the efficacy of the product.
The tests performed have not highlighted any particular unwanted effects; rarely, slight signs of irritation and congestion of the nasal mucosa may occur, with a temporary sensation of a blocked nose.
Other rare side effects may include runny nose and mild irritation of the throat.
Frequent and continued overdose of the product does not in any case put the user's health at risk, although it does increase the probability of the adverse effects already described occurring.
Rarely, an overdose may cause the onset of a low-grade fever (for only 3-4 hours).
Conservation
Store away from direct heat sources.
Validity with intact packaging: 36 months.
Validity after opening: 2 months.
