Description
BUTYROSE
Description
Sodium Butyrate LSC MicroCaps slow release - EU patent 2352386. Food intended for special medical purposes based on microencapsulated sodium butyrate. The patented microcapsule formulation with LSC barrier effect technology is used because sodium butyrate is a very active molecule but with a high degree of dissociation (pKa 4.82), which without protection would not reach the colon/rectum. Indicated for the dietary treatment of subjects affected by colon diseases with altered trophism of the intestinal mucosa, it can be used in case of:
- diarrhea;
- irritable bowel syndrome;
- diverticular disease;
- inflammatory bowel diseases;
- radiation proctitis.
Ingredients
Microencapsulated sodium butyrate (hydrogenated palm oil, sodium butyrate; bulking agent: E516; flavourings; coating agent: E477), vegetable capsule (coating agent: E464; colour: E171).
Nutritional characteristics
How to use
Take 1-3 capsules per day (for a maximum of 6 capsules per day) near meals. If you have difficulty swallowing, you can open the capsule and take the contents by dispersing them in drinks or semi-solid foods (water, milk, fruit juices, yogurt, soups, etc.). Do not cook it or expose it to temperatures above 40°/45°C to avoid altering the patented protection of sodium butyrate. There are no time limits to the duration of treatment.
Contraindications
There are no known hypersensitivity phenomena or interactions with other medicinal products. In case of adverse symptoms, consult your doctor.
The product must be used under medical supervision. It is not suitable to be used as a sole source of nutrition. Keep out of reach of children.
Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature below 25°C, away from heat sources and direct sunlight.
Validity with intact packaging: 60 months.
Validity after first opening: 12 months.
