In Gragnano, producing pasta is an ancient art, a heritage of history, culture, traditions and secrets. Being born and living in Gragnano means being pervaded, inebriated by the exciting flavours and aromas of durum wheat semolina, of the pasta that comes from it. In 1976, Mario Moccia, despite being an important and historic cheese maturing company, could not resist the call of being from Gragnano... and he bought a famous pasta factory, but in a deep crisis, dedicating, "with no small difficulty, in an unfortunate moment for the pasta market", his entire life to the total restoration of the building in the historic centre, to the construction of the new factory, as well as to the relaunch of pasta and its brands, to the birth of the first consortium of Gragnano pasta factories: COPAG, contributing in an effective and important way to the affirmation and requalification of Gragnano pasta on markets all over the world. In 1994, the pasta factory was sold. After a few years, for love, for passion, in honor of their father, the children re-established the artisanal pasta factory with a high quality production.
